We have been retained by our client, Insurance Council of Zimbabwe to facilitate the recruitment and selection of self­ driven and competent personnel to fill the vacant position.

PURPOSE OI POST

The position exists to assist in conducting research to advise and guide decision making by ICZ and its members on short term insurance technical issues, all relevant developments and best practices. The Research Economist will also be required to create a store of information on any relevant subject of interest to the short -term insurance industry.

PRINCIPAL ACCONTAB1L1T1ES

• Monitor and conduct research on the economic, social and political environment, statistical and international developments in these areas.
• Conduct research on specific insurance issues to inform decisions on best practice in technical aspects of short­ term insurance and reinsurance underwriting and claims management.
• Conduct research on product development
• Assist in monitoring economic, legal and advocacy developments in the insurance industry’ both on the local and external markets to provide advice to ICZ Members.
• Assisi with provision of timely and accurate responses to data/information requests and inquiries regarding short­ term insurance issues.
• Compile, collect and research information and other relevant documents for the library.
• Manage the digital and physical short term insurance library and ensure ease of access to information.
• Produce reports on researches conducted and ensures accurate information is provided, tor correct decision making.
• Produce articles for publication.
• Proffer necessary advice crucial to delivery of mandate by Council.

JOB RELATED ATRIBUTES

The ideal incumbent must possess the following minimum qualifications, competencies and experience:

• Degree in Insurance & Risk Management, Economics or Business Studies, Statistics or Mathematics.
• Insurance background is an added advantage.
• Research skills.
