Job Summary
A local NGO is inviting suitably qualified, experienced, passionate, and hardworking individuals to apply for the above-mentioned position. The successful candidate will be employed on a fixed term contract of 12 months. Continuity of employment will be based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding.
Duties And Responsibilities
Reporting to the Activity Manager, the MERL will be responsible for data collection in the field, all monitoring, evaluation and reporting activities under the project focus area. The specific duties will include the following, among others:
• Undertake a community mapping exercise to determine gaps in programming and inform future programmers
• In conjunction with programme staff, develop a performance monitoring plan in line with work plan objectives the project
• Train programmes staff on use of the database and continually update it
• Develop tools and conduct longitudinal studies for the project’s key areas
• Conduct Routine Data Quality Assessments (RDQA) to establish attribution and causality
• In liaison with programme staff, document success stories for publication
• Establish and maintain a mechanism for tracking outcomes based on National Minimum Quality Standards for OVC
• Network with: MoHCC, MoWAGCD, Social Services and other line ministries, Community stakeholders and duty bearers within the project sites.
Qualifications And Experience
The ideal candidate should have
• A Social Science Degree
• Post Graduate qualification in Monitoring & Evaluation, statistics or related fields.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in OVC, SRHR, HIV programming in an NGO setting.
• Demonstrated experience and ability to produce high quality reports.
• Experience working with stakeholders that include government ministries, donor representatives and NGO.
• The ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision and meeting deadlines.
• A clean class 4 driver’s license
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office operations and packages.
