DESCRIPTION
Applications are being invited for a vacant position that has arisen within the Competition and Tariff Commission that of an Accountant. The position is based in Harare and the job requirements are provided hereunder:
DUTIES
Compile and prepare financial statements and supporting schedules including management and any other accounts
Review statements and performs analytical reviews, and reconciliation of general ledger accounts to subsidiary ledgers and bank statements
Reconciles and prepares audit spreadsheets, reports and year end journal entries and interacts extensively with external auditors
Monitors, analyze and report on Commission transactions
Spearhead development of financial strategies
Monitors and reviews accurate coding and classification of revenues and expenditures.
Conduct monthly budget to actuals analysis and review discrepancies
Coordinate budget development process with departments staff, compile budget data to prepare budget book on annual basis
Develop and manage short-term (daily to1 month) cash forecasts to anticipate cash needs
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting Professional qualification such as CIS, ACCA or CIMA and Masters’ Degree in relevant is an added advantage
Member of a Professional Accounting Board
At least 5 years’ post-qualification experience in an accounting environment,
Exposure in regulatory authority is an added advantage
Experience in dealing with multi-sectoral transactions is essential
Knowledge of Accounting Practices and Proficiency in Accounting Software
Ability to Prepare Financial Statements
