Business Development Assistant – Part Time Volunteer: International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR)

The International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR) is seeking to hire an experienced and competent Business Development Assistant. IIRR is an equal opportunity employer; therefore qualified women are encouraged to apply.
General Description
The Business Development Assistant is responsible for marketing the organization and assisting in resource mobilization through applied learning program and project proposal writing. The post holder will be based in Harare, Zimbabwe and reports to the Program Coordinator.
Key responsibilities
Build meaningful donor, policymaker, private sector and industry relationships and support the Program Coordinator of IIRR at key stakeholder events and meetings; Assist the Program Coordinator in project concept notes and proposal writing; Assist the Program Coordinator in marketing and facilitating Applied Learning Program and consultancy work; Support additional strategic, high-impact initiatives within IIRR Zimbabwe and Africa Strategy; Represent IIRR at stakeholder meetings and forums.
Requirements
Have at least a degree in development management, business studies, education, sociology, agriculture or other related discipline. A Master’s degree or postgraduate studies in any of these principles is a plus; At least 3 years of experience in project concept note and proposal development and writing; At least five years of experience in the development sector; Deadline driven, highly organized, and able to multitask; Is a business-minded social entrepreneur with demonstrable skill and practical experience; Experienced, acclaimed and inspiring facilitator committed to participatory learning who possesses advanced skill in the use of participatory tools/methods; At least two (2) years’ experience as trainer/facilitator in training and capacity development at organization and field level; Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as excellent analytical skills; Deep understanding, skill and experience in rural development, knowledge management and documentation are highly desirable and advantage.
