The Consumer Protection Commission of Zimbabwe is seeking to recruit a vibrant and dynamic individual with a distinct Consumer rights and Consumer protection mindset for the position of Chief Executive Officer. The individual will be at the helm of the organization and will be expected to devise and implement cutting-edge consumer protection strategies. The incumbent should be able to supervise and control all strategic aspects of the organisation and will be responsible for giving the proper strategic direction as well as creating a vision for success. He/She should be a prudent manager, and an inspiring leader with a sharp business acumen and exceptional analytical skills who is capable of seeing the bigger picture in a variety of settings while keeping the human factor in perspective. The over-arching goal of the incumbent should be to drive the company’s development and guide it towards long-term success. The successful candidate will report to the Board of Directors. Principal Accountabilities The successful incumbent will be responsible for the following key

Duties And Responsibilities
• Implementation of the Consumer Protection Act (Chapter 14:44) and related regulations to protect consumer rights in Zimbabwe.
• Creating, communicating, and implementing the organization’s vision, mission, and overall direction.
• Leading the formulation and implementation of the overall organization’s strategy anchoring on the assessment of trends and developments in the consumer protection environment and the development of the long-term vision for the Commission and its strategic objectives under the oversight of the Commissioners.
• Planning and implementation of Consumer protection actions including the setting of targets.
• Planning of activities, and the allocation of resources to achieve the strategic focus of the Commission and to continuously improve business effectiveness.
• Deploy appropriate systems for operational control, budgetary control, logistics management, performance management, human capital management and development as well as risk management
• Maintaining healthy and strong stakeholder relationships
• The identification, utilization and control of information to create and building the knowledge base of the Commission by ensuring the integrity and exploitation of such information for Consumer rights Protection
• Performance reporting and management of business planning processes by ensuring the development, installation and operation of systems for measuring and reporting performance and guaranteeing their integrity, accuracy and reliability thereof.
• Leading and motivating teams to advance and embrace employee engagement thus developing a high performing managerial team and performance culture in the organization.
Qualifications And Experience
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
a) A Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Humanities, or Law plus a Master of Business Administration.
b) Chartered Customer Service Professional (CCSP) or equivalent is on added advantage
c) Membership to a consumer or customer related professional organisation
d) Proven experience in executive/ senior managerial position in excess of 10 years in a large corporation or Consumer Protection organisation
e) Experience in implementation of Consumer Protection laws and Consumer rights protection.
f) Experience in developing and implementing profitable turn around strategies
g) Sound business performance and financial management skills.
h) In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general , management best practices
i) An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills
