DEPARTMENT OF WORKS AND INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT
CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (1 POST)
The incumbent will be accountable to the Director Works and Infrastructure Development.

Duties and Responsibilities
Evaluate sites prior to construction and perform onsite inspections as well as field and laboratory tests.
Prepare results and communicate relevant findings to the Director Works and Infrastructure Development.
Supervision of ongoing projects to identify and resolve any challenges.

Observe project sites and evaluate contractors’ work to detect problem with designs and specifications.
Read and review project drawings to ensure conformity with engineers’ design.

Act as a representative of the Site Engineer and report all structural challenges to the Director Works and Infrastructure Development.
Supervise projects to ensure compliance with relevant authority’s dictates (i.e Public Works).
Material testing to ensure the quality of materials to be used.
Prepare all civil works related drawings as may be required by the Director Works and Infrastructure Development.
Keep structural and civil works records for all projects.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director Works and Infrastructure Development.

Desired Qualifications and Experience
National Diploma (ND) in Civil Engineering plus at least one (1) year of relevant experience.
HND in Civil Engineering will be an added advantage.
At least 5 O’ Level passes.
