VA: CONSULTANCY: UNFPA Zimbabwe 7th Country Program Evaluation

Duties and Responsibilities

United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and The Government of Zimbabwe (GoZ) are implementing the 7th Country Programme (CP) which covers the period 2016 to 2020 and is being extended to 2021. UNFPA has been operating in Zimbabwe since 1982 supporting the Government of Zimbabwe. The strategic goal of UNFPA is to “achieve universal access to sexual and reproductive health, realize reproductive rights, and reduce maternal mortality to accelerate progress on the agenda of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD), to improve the lives of women, adolescents and youth, enabled by population dynamics, human rights and gender equality”.

Qualifications and Experience

UNFPA would like to conduct an end of programme evaluation to assess the progress of the 7th CP towards achieving the set outputs and outcomes and to use the results to develop the next country programme from 2022 to 2026. UNFPA seeks to recruit four consultants who should be experts in the areas of i) Population and Development, ii) Sexual, Reproductive Health and Rights, iii) Adolescent and Youth, and iv) Gender Equality to conduct the evaluation. One of the four team members will be an international consultant who will perform the role of a team leader with additional responsibility of leading and coordinating the work of the evaluation team. Consultants are expected to apply as individuals.
