Description
Family Aids Caring Trust (FACT) is a Christian national development NGO based in Zimbabwe. It implements sustainable development initiatives to improve health, safety, education, and stability outcomes for OVC, adolescents, and youth affected and infected by HIV in Zimbabwe. FACT seeks the services of project staff to implement activities that:1) Improve access to HIV care and treatment services for children, adolescents, and youth; 2) Strengthen child and family safety skills through improved access to HIV and GBV prevention, GBV response, and child protection services; 3) Improve economic stability and educational attainment for vulnerable children and their families; and 4) Strengthen local systems for planning, coordinating, monitoring and assuring the quality of services for vulnerable children and their families. JOB TITLE: ECONOMIC STRENGTHENING ASSISTANT
DEPARTMENT: Safeguarding and Sustainable Livelihoods SSL
DUTY STATION: Chipinge, Makoni and Mutare
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Economic Strengthening Assistant (ESA) will be responsible for supporting the implementation of Household Economic Strengthening activities in areas of operation guided by the ESO. The ESA will ensure all district activities are documented and submitted timeously ESO for submission to the MER Officer. She/he will closely supervise and support community cadres in the implementation and monitoring of ES activities. The ESA will work in close collaboration with the district stakeholders for all issues related to the SMART Girls project implementation in the districts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support of program procurement, implementation and monitoring activities.
• Facilitate service provision, data tracking and collection and support to community cadres.
• Ensure smooth filing of service registers, social contracts, offer letters, certificates and other documents to meet data quality assessment (DQA) and site monitoring improvement systems (SIMS)
• Conduct ES data cleaning to enable entry of information into the MIS, filing and reporting.
• Support planning of trainings and events.
• Maintain close liaison with line ministries and business stakeholders.
• Constantly scan for opportunities for internship, employment and business engagements for AGYW.
• Enable documentation of bulletins, success stories and lessons learnt.
• Conduct field support visits for AGYW under skills training and caregivers.
• Capacity build partners and children to comply with provisions of Child Protection / Safeguarding Policy.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• A Bachelors’ degree Agriculture, Agriculture Economics, Natural Resources Management or related.
• Experience in community development work preferably in the field economic strengthening and livelihoods. Knowledge and experience with NGO operations and community-based programming will be a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially with community-based groups.
• Knowledge and use of computer (MS office and Excel).
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team is essential.
