Description

DESCRIPTION

Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures and to ensure work is in accordance with relevant codes.

DUTIES
Oversees the day to day running of the plant and workshop
Prepares annual electrical budget proposal for new equipment and consumables for the Depot.
Attends to plant installations and electrical maintenance.
Conducts weekly electrical plant inspection, services and produces the weekly plant performance report.

Orders spares and other requirements for the workshop by raising internal requisitions.
Carries out annual national plant overhaul as and when necessary.
Recommends modification to plants and executes them upon approval

Co-ordinates the electrical maintenance of Depot buildings and equipment by raising job cards.
Supervises Contractors and initiates their payments as and when necessary.

Investigates all electrical incidences and ensures corrective and preventive action is taken to prevent recurrence.
Prepares and submits accidents/incidents report with the help of the SHEQ Officer to NSSA.
Liaises with external parties for any jobs that need to be done at the Depot.
Controls and accounts for all spares and material usage that happen during major repairs/ overhauls.
Maintains spares and material records.
Any other related duties as assigned by the Superior.

REQUIREMENTS
5 ‘O’ level subjects including English Language and Accounts / Mathematics.
National Certificate in Electrical Power Engineering
Class 1 Journeyman Trade Test Certificate
2 years experience in plant maintenance

Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to modify, design and manufacture engineering components with or without drawings
Team oriented, open minded and a willingness to learn.
Good analytical skills
Detail oriented with an aptitude for problem-solving.
Good interpersonal skills
