Description

CeSHHAR Zimbabwe is an organization that specializes in sexual health, HIV and AIDS research in Zimbabwe. The organization is implementing a National Sex Work Programme behalf of and in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Child Care and the National AIDS Council with the aim of reducing HIV acquisition and transmission among female, male and transgender sex workers thereby reducing HIV transmission and acquisition to and from their clients. Low consistent condom use, risk of drug use and increasing transactional sex are some of the common reasons that put these key populations at risk of acquiring STI and HIV infection. Therefore, reaching these populations and increasing awareness and access to STI & HIV prevention, testing and treatment services are fundamental to reducing transmission of STI and HIV infections.
Scope of work
The position’s main objective is to ensure that the program is effectively able to collect, analyse and report on program data within the assigned region. The successful candidate will work closely with staff at sex work clinics in the assigned region to ensure activities are effectively implemented to allow for effective program management and performance reporting. Successful candidates will administratively report to the respective Regional Program Coordinator and technically to the National M & E Officer.
Specific duties
Supporting the collection and reporting of clinical process and outcome including program specific indicators on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis as required by program management; Working collaboratively and closely with the Data Entry Clerks, Site Leaders, Nurses, Outreach workers and peer educators by conducting routine data quality audits at sex work clinic within the region; Ensuring all registers are completed accurately, consistently, regularly and reports are submitted on time; Capturing, cleaning, verifying, and validating data in DHIS 2, flagging and correcting data inconsistencies before making reports; Providing technical support to health care workers and strengthening the use of DHIS 2 and ODK at sex work clinics to strengthen their use in monitoring the National Sex Work Program; Conducting routine analyses, visualization of program data and cascades across core indicators to enable data driven programming; Conducting regular onsite-data-verification and continuous quality improvement to monitor data quality; Tracking performance against annual targets and reviewing performance with the site and regional level staff; Leading the analysis and writing of regional weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual programmatic performance reports and their submission in stipulated timelines; Ensuring mobile devices at designated facilities are well maintained, properly managed and in good working condition and escalating unresolved issues; Working closely with MoHCC, NAC and other implementing to track and report both challenges and outcomes of various interventions implemented by partners in the program.

Applying Instructions

Qualifications and experience Degree in Biostatistics, Social Sciences, Public Health or other relevant field; M&E qualification from a recognized institution is an added advantage. Computer skills and proficiency in statistical software packages e.g. STATA, SPSS, SAS and advanced skills in Ms Excel. Ability to use health-related management information systems, including DHIS2. Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds. Demonstrated experience, knowledge and sensitivity working with KP individuals and communities.
