VACANCY: Information, Communication and Technology Graduate Intern
Duty Station: Harare

Terms of Reference
A Local Non-Governmental Organization based in Harare, has a position for an Information, Communication and Technology Graduate Intern. The organisation has a mandate of strengthening community systems, to contribute to national HIV,TB and other Non-communicable Diseases responses. At the same time ensuring that the right to health is realised through capacity building of CSOs and CBOs that are into HIV/AIDS TB and NCDs programming. This is also achieved through advocacy and networking at both community and national level.
The ICT Graduate intern plays a critical role listening, packaging and communicating the visions, voices and priorities of the NGO in consultation with the ICT officer.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
I. Assist the ICT officer in creating, coordinating and implementing a communications and advocacy strategy.
II. Create content for organizational events, for the network members, the media and to disseminate content through the organisation’s communication platforms.
Translate events and programmatic developments into compelling narratives, working with the ICT Officer and programme department to convey key messages.
Design presentations and public statements for the organization.
Assist in the development and management of a media database
Work closely with the media at key advocacy moments in consultation with the Advocacy officer.
Assist in the Development and management of the website and web content.
III. Design, coordinate and facilitate branding and marketing materials for the Organisation.
Oversee the consistent use of the organization’s visual identity in the use of all external communications.
Assist in the designing and printing of materials i.e IEC materials.
Utilise, manage and coordinate the organization’s communications platforms including website and social media, printed or partner materials to disseminate key messages and advocacy demands.
Ensure the organization’s website is always functional and that any problems are dealt with
efficiently.
Ensure that all electronic communications such as the website, and all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Whatsapp groups) are accurate, up to date and regularly refreshed.
IV. Managing membership database and profiles.
Updating programs and activities implemented by members on the website and other social media platforms.
V .Assist in managing internal communication.
Working closely with the programme department to coordinate internal communications including dropbox, Brown Bags, listservs, research and other documentation.

The person should also demonstrate an ability to scan the environment and identify and recommend strategic opportunities to work with other partners and contribute to change.
The person should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and be able to contribute to an energetic and busy team.

Qualifications and Experience
Skills Specification
Qualifications ,Knowledge and Experience
A higher qualification in communications, journalism, marketing or equivalent.
An advanced qualification is an added advantage.
The preferred candidate should have experience in content management systems and social media strategy implementation.
Proficiency in Word Press content management is a must.
Should have an understanding of what it means to meaningfully involve people living with HIV in all matters that affect their lives.
Should have interest in working with people living with HIV, in human rights, in stigma discrimination and/or access to treatment for people living with HIV and/or key populations.
The preferred candidate should also have experience in communications for NGOs or civil society organization.
Communicating with and engaging a diverse range of audiences with strong presentation and public speaking skills
Personal qualities
Excellent organizational, writing and oral communication skills.
IT literate with experience of digital media.
Creative with proven ability to influence and motivate groups and individuals.
Attention to detail, energetic and positive attitude, Confident manner.
Enjoys working as part of a network but can work independently
