Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
The Applicant should:
• Possess a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or any other relevant
equivalent Master’s degree.
• Possess a first degree in Library and Information Science or related field.
• Have a minimum of five (5) years of relevant post-qualification experience at senior
management level in a University or research library environment.

• Possess skills and competencies in the delivery of Information and Digital Skills for
Undergraduate and Postgraduate students.
• Possess good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills and keep abreast with
technological trends.
• Be a strong team player, able to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to
achieve desired outcomes.
• Possess demonstrable knowledge of current and future trends in academic
librarianship.
• Possess good interpersonal and communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Coordinate the development and update of content on the Library Website.
• Manage Library Social Media Platforms.
• Develop quality assurance benchmarks and Standard Operating procedures (SOPs)
for the Client Services Division.
• Coordinate and promote the use of Assistive Technologies for persons with Special
Needs.
• Coordinate the production of the Library Newsletter.

• Coordinate the hosting of Library events and exhibits.
• Coordinate the development of Library marketing and promotional materials.

• Manage and promote all Library spaces and study facilities.
• Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation activities on Library products and
services.
• Coordinate the commemoration of national, international and cultural days.
• Conduct staff performance management.

Perform any other duties as assigned by the University Librarian.
