Description

Our client is looking for an Operations Project Manager to join their team.  The Operations Project Manager will be relied on by various levels of management to innovate, execute, and provide solutions, ideas, problems, and
support so they can build a strong culture for the teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Drive division profitability through effective project execution;
 Evaluate and continually improve the systems and processes being used by the department
to effectively meet customer requirements and profitability goals;
 Manage, mentor, and develop the production team;
 Responsible for work assignments, hiring, promotions and performance appraisals;
 Control department activities for adherence to project requirements;
 Develop/oversee project management technical and schedule goals, procurement and
contractual requirements, personnel assignments and capacity planning;
 Ensure schedule requirements are met for all projects. Need the capability to readily adjust
priorities and milestones based upon changing customer needs, resource availability, and
job requirements;
 Interact with the customer to validate expectations are understood and met before, during
and after project completion;
 Manage project review process with particular emphasis on financial forecasting;
 Proactively and systematically communicate challenges, risks and successes;
 Coordinate with legal counsel to provide expertise to resolve contract disputes;
 Balance internal and external resource loading;
 Coordination of installation schedules, management of staffing to ensure on time
completion,
 Maintain project documentation related to contract administration, schedule, and budgets,
 Work directly with Project Engineer and Construction Manager to define project baseline,
scope, resource allocation, and deliverables,
 Perform regular check-ins with job superintendents to gauge project progress,
 Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders,
 Proactively manage project scope, identify critical variables, and devise contingency plans,
 Internal reporting, maintaining records and databases,
 Troubleshooting issues relating to installations,
 Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, clients, and stakeholders

Desired Skills & Experience:
 Project Management experience in electrical construction;
 Understand engineering in electric power;
 Deep understanding of solar energy systems;
 Ability to problem solve both personnel issues and project issues;
 Good record keeping and organizational skills;
 Operation monitoring and quality control analysis;
 Excellent coordination, time management, and multi-tasking;
 Extensive knowledge of project scheduling, bids, take offs, change orders, and contracts;
 Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and assist in winning projects;
 Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written;
 Exceptional analytical, motivational, and leadership skills;
 Complex troubleshooting and problem-solving ability;
 Budgeting and planning;
 Good judgement and decision making;
 Familiarity with construction tools and technology;
 Solid mathematical and computer skills (Microsoft Office 365);
 Expected to work on project site 50% of time or more, as project demands

Education and Experience
 Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management;
 5+ years previous experience in project management and/or construction operations;
 Journeyman or Master Electrician’s license a plus;
 Diploma or Degree in Project Management;
 Valid driver license.
