Introduction

We are focused on researching, supporting and implementing integrated approaches to managing TB and HIV.The following position has become available as part of the Implementation Research Division projects and you are welcome to apply should you meet the requirements of the position.

YOUR JOB WILL BE TO:Responsible for recruitment and retention of participants through:
•Conducting outreach activities in accordance with SOPs and protocol
•Explaining and answering questions about, the research, to potential volunteers and stakeholders in accordance with the protocol and SOPs
•Recruit and screen volunteers from target populations through social science interviews
•Provide qualitative and quantitative feedback on recruitment strategies to superiors for evaluation.
•Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards during the conduct of recruitment
•Conducting telephonic reminders to participants who have upcoming appointments.
•Assist with tracing participants and keeping good documentation of all tracing activities.
•Assist with conducting home visits.
•Collecting hospital data to assist the Medical Officer to complete AE reports.

Provide Data collection activities, including:
•Administering questionnaires to study participants
•Data collection and abstraction from clinic files, registers and relevant electronic data systems
•Work on electronic data capturing platforms
•Observe and record clinic activities and patient flow
•Collect relevant data for costing studies

Research-related administrative tasks
•Ensure all applicable documentation, consent forms and data collection forms are completed according to study protocol
•Educate and share information about the study activities
•Administer data collection instruments as required, including risk assessment questionnaires
•Complete, compile and submit study case report forms (CRF’s) and source documents timeously
•Ensure all records on participants are completed and filed accurately with strict adherence to documentation handling procedures
•Maintain accurate study logs
•Assist with participant reimbursement and reconciling cash and airtime.
•Report on daily/weekly activities to the project coordinator and meet stipulated targets

Requirements
YOU SHOULD HAVE/BE:
•Matric
•A Bachelor’s degree from four year college or university in Public Health, Social Science Nursing, Medicine or related field will be an advantage
•Research experience and GCP training.
•Ability to work under pressure
•Good reporting skills
•Good people skills
•Detail orientated, diligent, honest and hard working
•A Drives licence and own car will be an advantageATTRIBUTES:

Non –South African citizens must have a valid work-permit

NB: Please note the successful candidate will be working across clinics within the City of Cape Town and West Coast and will require rotation between the clinics for the duration of the project based on the needs of the project.
