Roads Technician

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Result Areas (Roads Technician)
• Construction and maintenance of all council roads
• Prepare a work program for all council roads
• Produce project feasibility reports
• Receives information and compiles monthly and annual reports
• Distributes manpower within the section and in various capital projects
• Attends to staff grievances and where necessary refers these to the Head of Department
• Ensures that all works are carried out
within the limits of available resources
• Raises requisitions for the purchase of project materials
• Controls the quality of work produced in-house and or by contract by ensuring strict adherence to standards

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Experience
• National Diploma Civil Engineering/ Water Engineering
• A higher qualification is an added advantage
• Computer knowledge a must and able to use engineering design software
• A clean record of service with the local government fratemity will be an added advantage
• A minimum of 5 years experience
• Clean Class 4 driver’s license
