DESCRIPTION

A new high school in the heart of Norton has a vacancy for school head for Term 1, 2023. This is a day school catering for both boys and girls and at its peak will enrol over 700 students. Applications are invited from interested individuals with relevant qualifications and experience.

DUTIES
Overall management of the school in accordance with the Education Act and school policies and procedures.
Implementation of curricula and syllabi at the school
Developing job descriptions and profiles of each position in the structure of the school
Establishing performance standards for staff
Maintaining a professional staff with sufficient knowledge, skills, experience, and professional certification to meet the requirements of the school
Continuous training of all staff

Developing the school calendar and timetable
Actively engage with staff, students, and parents/guardians to understand and manage issues and concerns and promote high morale
Performing risk assessments and analyses for all aspects of the school and its activities
Managing school assets ensuring that they are appropriate, sufficient, and effectively deployed to achieve the objectives of the school
Safeguarding assets by maintaining registers and performing regular checks of physical assets to confirm existence and ascertain condition

REQUIREMENTS
Relevant Degree with at least 5 years teaching experience
Knowledge of the requirements of the Education Act
Proficient in many computer applications
Good leadership and communication skills
Honest, objective, diligent and responsible.
Creative, proactive, and innovative.
Thoroughness in performing work and checking work done by staff
